The Alabama Trucking Association provides an array of services that give its members the ATA Edge. ATA is the "voice of trucking," making itself heard in the halls of Congress and the State House. On many occasions, the state trucking association is the only road block that stands in the way of increased taxation and burdensome regulations. The constant goal is to assure an even better climate for the truck operator and industry in Alabama.
To serve the interests of the trucking industry and the public with excellence and integrity while continuing to advance highway safety.
Advocating Highway Safety
The Alabama Trucking Association has worked every year since 1998 with state and federal regulating agencies to reduce truck crashes. ATA represents about 700 trucking firms. Each firm has an employee responsible for fleet safety management. This year, the Alabama Trucking Association has sponsored five safety managers to earn the Certified Director of Safety (CDS) distinction.
$6,000 in Safety Certification Scholarships
The awards to the following five safety managers allowed them to start training at the North American Transportation Management Institute (NATMI).
